Styria's provincial government not only promotes business diversity but also concentrates on economic strength fields. These strength fields are business sectors in which Styria has already established a solid basis but still leaving much potential to be developed. Project partner within the Government of Styria is the Department for Economic Affairs and Innovation`s Unit “Internationalisation”. It is a major objective of the Government of Styria to strengthen international relations in order to improve the competitive environment of regional development in a multi-national context. Thus the Government of Styria is involved and engaged in a number of bi-, trans-national and interregional EU projects. Furthermore the Government of Styria supports a lot of national and regional initiatives with an interregional aspect on common developments (e.g. Innovation Region – Network of regional stakeholder on operating level as business and innovation centre, regional development agencies etc., I.N.E.S. – International Network of Engineering and Services, interregional network of private and public service units for concerted planning and regional development, RIST – Regional Internationalisation Strategy of Styria).
