Documentation of RICARDA Final Conference: Developing regional cluster-initiatives - intellectual capital reporting as a new tool for cluster managers and policy makers (15 November 2007, Berlin)
The RICARDA final conference, which was attended by about 70 participants, explored the potentials of analysing the intellectual capital of cluster and network initiatives in theory and practice.
Members of the RICARDA consortium introduced results and lessons learnt regarding the preparation of intellectual capital reporting for cluster and network initiatives and illustrated the opportunities for regional policy learning. With the presentation of the RICARDA manual conference participants received a practical guide to draft their own intellectual capital reports.
Two presentations from the European Commission contributed to the conference programme: Dr. Dimitri Corpakis underlined the importance of intellectual capital for building regional clusters while Dr. Gabriele Rose gave an outlook on upcoming activities in the fields of cluster management.
In two parallel afternoon workshops network managers reported on their experiences with using intellectual capital reporting for different types of networks. In a round table discussion representatives from the four RICARDA Regions (Stuttgart, Styria, Stockholm and West Transdanubia) and the European Commission exchanged their views on European "Good practice" in cluster management.
